Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at 8:10AM 'Fast Six' "Pretty Much 100%. It's Going to Happen." Says Justin Lin

By now, you've probably heard that Fast Five tallied a record breaking $86.2 million this weekend which marks the greatest opening ever for a film releasing in the month of April. What's more impressive was that the movie didn't have the benefit of 3D ticket prices.
Talk about stating the obvious. With the peek into Fast Six at the end of the credits, and the blockbuster success of the film, I would agree with Justin Lin. Says Lin, "After this big weekend, we're going forward, it's pretty much 100%. It's going to happen." Ya think?!
We reported two weeks ago that Chris Morgan was already hired to write the script and I think this franchise is going to be the James Bond of action films. Lin also tends to agree saying, "At five, we're just hitting our stride."
Unlike the Saw sequels I'm supporting this franchise to continue. Why? Because unlike Saw, the latest Fast and the Furious installment was one of the best in the franchise. It was bigger, badder, and costlier. As long as they keep raising the bar, sign me up!

I hope that they only make Fast and the Furious 6/Fast Six if the script is good and they hopefully conclude the series.
