Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at 11:12AM Lisa Cholodenko To Take on 'Alexander And The Terrible Horrible No Good Very Bad Day'

Lisa Cholodenko, the Oscar nominated director for the film, The Kids Are All Right, is in negotiations with 20th Century Fox to helm Alexander And The Terrible Horrible No Good Very Bad Day. This is an adaptation of the classic children's book ( which happened to be my favorite story growing up), and was first heard about last year. Shawn Levy ( Night At The Museum ) was originally set to direct the project with his production company 21 Laps.

This classic story by Judith Viorst follows Alexander, who wakes up one morning and cannot seem to catch a break. He starts his morning off with waking up to gum in his hair, having a cavity and eating lima beans for dinner. This adaption will be a live action film and is being co-produced by The Jim Henson Company. Alexander will be a "high concept family comedy" according to variety magazine. With as good of a director as Cholodenko behind this film, I expect big things to come from it.
