Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at 5:00PM Surprise Surprise! 'The Hangover III' Gets the Go-Ahead.
Much like Arnie in The Terminator, the Wolfpack will be back x 3! Did we ever seriously believe the Wolfpack wouldn't return?

With The Hangover II somehow still being in theaters and grossing a box office weekend record for a comedy, it's no shock that the studio heads are pumping their fists for another installment. The Wrap reports Craig Mazin, who penned the hit sequel has recently been hired to write the script with another long time Todd Phillips amigo Scot Armstrong for the Wolfpack's next mistake-filled, boozing adventure, The Hangover III.
So now that Vegas and Thailand are in the books where will the trio of Galifianakis, Ed Helms and Bradley Cooper take an ill advised boy's night out this time? Paris? Hawaii? Mars? According to THR, the seedy, seemingly lawless hardcore party scene of Amsterdam is deemed the obvious and most logical choice. Pot-friendly coffee shops, prostitution, bars galore and police turning a blind eye? The script could write itself and would make Vincent Vega very proud.
Finally, my opportunity to chime in why The Hangover series should just "hang it up" instead. Despite all the positive reviews for The Hangover II, I thought it was awful beyond words. The movie had a few subtle Galifianakis provided laughs, but the majority of it was a rerun of the first film joke by joke. The new uncomfortable situations were predictable, and Helms constantly screaming didn't make them any funnier. And they took a hilarious character in Chow (Ken Jeong) from the original and overused his character's comedic appeal, which was also one of the worst aspects of the sequel.
Our review of it with three Abiding Dudes was very generous, as I would've given it maybe two ,and suggested that Phillips and friends quit while they're ahead. Bringing back the same writers for the third, who wrote a shitty second script is a bad idea.
So Hangover III...do you guys want it or not?

Probably the greatest review I have read of The Hangover 2 - by a Finnish film reviewer attempting to write English. It's hilarious.

"Despite all the positive reviews" I think it is only getting 33% on rotten tomatoes so not a very good percentage of positive reviews. I was very disappointed in The Hangover 2. Many of the same reasons as you. I thought Chow was so annoying in this movie. Alan had a couple of funny parts and i actually thought Stu had the funniest parts. I think its ok but just didn't live up to the expectations. It didn't help that Bridesmaids came out 2 weeks prior and was 10 times funnier. Should they make a 3rd? Yes they should because it will make money. I will go see it opening day and it can't be any worse than the 2nd was
@ Brix - You are the most level-headed comment-critic I have ever read. I find it very difficult to argue with your logic, and that is awesome. That being said, I have to agree with Pat, I'm not as level-headed. I wish I could go back and unwatch this movie. I don't even want the memories of it rolling around my head, but in all fairness the first one took a little getting used to for me.
I say take the wolfpack to either Rio de Janeiro or Cancun.
I'll go see it, for the same reason why I'll go see Fast 11 & Rocky 12.
Its dumb guy fun!
