Friday, June 10, 2011 at 3:12AM Jason Bateman & Vince Vaughn Together Again in 'The Insane Laws'?

Jason Bateman's acting career is in full gear right now with promising comedies on the road ahead, including the long-awaited Arrested Development movie. Vince Vaughn on the other hand, though I like the guy appears to be stuck in neutral considering all the flops he's been in lately. Despite their diverging paths the two are on a crash course to be reunited again, this time for the family comedy The Insane Laws, Deadline reports.
Bateman has entered into negotiations for Jeremy Garelick's film, while Vaughn isn't formally attached but remains very interested. The two have reportedly done a read through of the script, and the film is targeted to start production in fall.
The guys previously played friends in rom coms like The Break-Up and Couples Retreat (terrible movie) and will be best friends in The Insane Laws, whose relationship becomes strained when the college aged son of one guy impregnates the daughter of the other guy. Now that's a sticky situation...
The movie sounds pretty stupid to me, and I hope The Insane Laws is only a working title for now.
Not to worry, Bateman has at least one or two solid comedies in his future (Arrested Development, Horrible Bosses), and even though Vaughn hasn't starred in anything funny since Wedding Crashers he's sure to rebound at some point just not in The Insane Laws.
