Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at 7:09AM A Sprinkle Of Funny And A Dash Of Action In 'Johnny English: Reborn' Trailer
The year of the sequels continues as the first trailer for Johnny English Reborn emerges online, the sequel to 2003s critically panned spy spoof. I remember bits and pieces of the first Johnny English when I went to go see it with my summer camp eight years ago.
Where's my Teddy?
The movie had something to do with the Pope but can you really blame me? Johnny English wasn’t memorable. It's not like it didn't have its moments because it did; it just didn't stick with me like other movies have.
The sequel is written by William Davies and Hammish McColi. Davies’ credits include the original English film as well as Twins, How To Train Your Dragon, and Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot; a bunch of hit-and-misses. McColi’s only other credit is Mr. Bean’s Vacation, which is a hilarious film. Rowan Atkinson returns to his comedic form but it comes off a bit like Mr. Bean in a tux instead of a quirky MI-7 agent, but that’s how the first came off as. The laughs in the trailer are minuscule but when the funny does show up, it's belly laughs. We get small gist of the story here, English is asked to come back to MI-7 to investigate rogue agents in other agencies who are trying to assassinate the Chinese premier. The action scenes are pretty tame but it is cool to see Mr. Bean himself, kick some ass.
I laughed really hard when he was sinking in the chair but I like that type of humor. I was always a fan of Rowan Atikinson since I was about four or five catching re-runs of Mr. Bean on PBS. Based on what I saw in this trailer, I won’t be rushing to the theater to see this. This looks like a late-night Netflix watch. What do you think about it? Are you excited to see Johnny English return to the movies? Johnny English Reborn opens in theaters August 18, 2011 and stars Rowan Atkinson, Rosemund Pike (Pride and Prejudice), Dominic West (300), Gillian Anderson (The X-Files), and James Bond himself, Pierce Brosnan.

Looks like a stupidly funny movie to me. Rowan Atkinson has always been hilarious though.
Repost, yet again. Seriously, does this blog have an editor and does he/she actually read the articles posted here?!?

And Patrick, it's my impression that you are sort of in-charge (but I have no real clue about that) and you made a similar quote on the other one: "I think this looks stupidly hilarious."
Hey Sammy, as you may have noticed, we're working with a new set of writers. I'm going to see what happened here because this is obviously an old trailer but thanks for the heads up.
My repetitiveness has been noted.
