Thursday, June 9, 2011 at 8:22PM Simon Pegg Talks 3rd Film With Wright and Frost

AICN had an opportunity to speak with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost at a promo for the DVD release of their film Paul at which time Pegg was asked about the third film the duo will star in directed by the genius that is Edgar Wright. He didn't reveal much other than the excitement that he and Wright have about getting the project underway, meaning there is a long time before we are actually going to start seeing anything serious about this project.
Pegg mentions that he is going to start work on a film in England shortly and then more than likely the Star Trek Sequel will be getting ready to start and he won't have a lot of time, but between the two projects he and Wright may be able to get a rough draft finished. A very roundabout way to say 'eh, maybe soonish'.
The big point he touched on was that they don't want to do the same old thing. They don't want audiences to become expectant when they walk in to a theater to see a Frost/Pegg/Wright film. There is something reassuring about hearing him say that, though the only real consistency between the three is hilarity. Don't know that I have seen a bad product from any of them regardless of working together or solo projects.
The working title for the film is The World's End and that doesn't really give a whole lot away, especially when it comes to these three. The only other thing that would be more exciting than hearing about this third film today would be to hear that Abrams buddy Lindelof is beginning his own secretive project on this the eve before Super 8 goes global.
