Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at 10:04AM 'Evil Dead' Remake Confirmed on Twitter?
Bruce Campbell joined twitter last week and immediately started posting and answering fan questions. When asked if the Evil Dead remake was still happening he responded, “Believe in the remake, dawg! The project is real. In the works. Cool as hell. Scary as hell.” Ash seems to know what he’s talking about.
So it’s happening and from what we’re hearing, happening soon. Dread Central claims Sam Raimi is headed to Detroit right now, where he’ll begin work on the Evil Dead redo. They claim it’ll be a small, low-budget indie in the mold of the original, low-budget Evil Dead movie.
Can someone please explain why the creator of an idea would remake his/her own work 30 years later? Don't get me wrong I believe Mr. Rami can do whatever the hell he wants and I really appreciate his talent. What's the motivation though? Is it because he can revisit his classic and make it perfect (to him) or is it like a tattoo that he received on his 18th birthday and now he wants a redo? Well... with all that said I'm sure I'll have to watch it, so I just hope I'm not sorely disappointed.
