Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at 10:05AM Some Returning Actors to 'Bourne Legacy'

It would be unwise for me to tease the return of an actor to a franchise (s)he is no longer a part of and that's why Matt Damon is NOT the actor returning to the Bourne series. Instead, the actors played key roles in the mythology of Bourne and they are: Joan Allen and Albert Finney, who played Pam Landy and Dr. Albert Hirsch respectively. Allen and Finney will be making their return in the new installment of spy franchise The Bourne Legacy, led by Jeremy Renner.
As mentioned earlier, Matt Damon is not returning to the newest Bourne film. That spot will go to Jeremy Renner "as a new operative -- Allen and Finney will step back into the roles they created in the previous chapters. Allen will again be seen as the CIA agent she played in 2004's The Bourne Supremacy and 2007's The Bourne Ultimatum. Finney, who was seen as the head of a behavior modification program in Ultimatum, will pick up where he left off as well."
Tony Gilroy will be pulling double-duty as both the director and writer for The Bourne Legacy. Gilroy wrote the 3 previous instalments of the Bourne series that starred Matt Damon.
The Bourne Legacy also stars Rachel Weisz, Oscar Isaac and Edward Norton, who was recently announced to play the film's lead villain. The film is set for release 3 August 2012.
