Thursday, July 28, 2011 at 5:03PM Red Band Trailer for Kevin Smith's 'Red State' is Nuckin' Futs!
Here at GTBP we've posted a lot about Red State over the last year or so, but other than knowing it was a horror film with a decent cast, I wasn't sure what to expect. Having just watched the new Red Band trailer, the movie looks hardcore and I like what I see.
The crazy flick stars Michael Angarano, Nicholas Braun and Kyle Gallner as three teenagers who receive an online invitation for sex, only to get kidnapped by radical fundamentalists that have much more sinister plans in mind for the young men. The fundamentalists are led by a crazy preacher (Michael Parks) and a creepy older woman (Oscar winner Melissa Leo). John Goodman and Kevin Pollack are the ATF agents looking to bring the cult down.
It's been awhile since I've wanted to see a Kevin Smith movie, but Red State looks impressive. As you'll see in the trailer the movie also receives high praise from Quentin Tarantino.
Red State comes out on October 19, though the trailer suggests a September release. It's gonna be crazy!

Luckily or unluckily enough, 'Red State' premiered at Fantasia International Film Festival in my hometown of Montreal and I couldn't make it. Currently very unhappy with that fact, especially every time I see the trailer.
Dang, too bad. At least it comes out kind of soon.
