What does the word patriotic sound like? Alan Silvestri (Forrest Gump) tried his best to capture this in his score for Captain America: The First Avenger. The soundtrack was previewed on NYC classical music station on their show, Movies on the Radio.
It sounds like what you would expect. Nothing crazy, just some solid music behind some action scenes in the film. Check it out below:

I would hope they kinda' mix this Aron Copeland-ish traditional sound of the 40's era with a modern techno sound for the superheroics like what they do in the trailers for the movie. Overall I guess I'll hear how it works in the final movie.
