It seems that fictional survival guides, and how-to manuals are becoming quite the rage. I read Max Brooks book, The Zombie Survival Guide, a while back and that was fun and entertaining, and he wrote the script for World War Z due out sometime next year, and greatly anticipated might I add. When reading about How to Defeat your own Clone there was mention of another book regarding a garden gnome attack. Two out of three ain't bad.
The first thing I read was the synopsis for the film which reads like this:
The story is set after a civil war between humans and their clones, whom the humans were being treated as slaves. In the clone-dominated society that follows, a young human goes on quest to turn the tide against the stronger and more evolved species.
Simple enough and sounds like a full-fledged action-packed sci-fi movie. The obvious comparisons being I, Robot and The Matrix Trilogy, which were the comparisons that popped into my head as well. Not to take anything away from the story, because it does indeed sound fun, but it seems the only thing that is going to come from the book is the title. The book is actually described as a more humorous play on humanity and what uses people would find for their clones, e.g organ donors and work replacements, both examples not taking into account the fact that the clone is a free thinking individual and may not want to be your organ donor or work replacement.
Either way, I look forward to both the print and the movie versions of this title.
