The marketing machine keeps on chugging, this time a few new spots for the James Franco-starrer, and a cumbersome title to beat, Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Brand appeal, neat action sequences, primate uprising and some impressive CGI apes including the way they captured the imagination and chilling looks of Andy Serkis as Caesar. Here are two new TV spots for Rise of the Planet of the Apes:
Certainly nothing that we haven't seen before in previous trailers, but these clips are definitely piquing my interests as I'm sure it's gaining your attention as well. We most certainly need this new chapter in the franchise to wash out the taste of Tim Burton's Planet of the Apes. Anyone caught defending it needs to be locked up in one of those cages Caesar and company find themselves in... just kidding.
We here at Get The Big Picture would like to know what you're opinion and expectations are for Rise of the Planet of the Apes, and how the extremely long title of this prequel affects you.
Rise of the Planet of the Apes is directed by Rupert Wyatt and stars James Franco (as Will Rodman), Andy Serkis (as Caesar), Freida Pinto (as Caroline) and John Lithgow. The film opens nationwide 5 August 2011.
