Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at 11:19PM Giovanni Ribisi Casted in 'The Gangster Squad'
It seems like Giovanni Ribisi decided to get busy in 2010 and rededicate himself towards acting again. Believe it or not, The Boiler Room star was scheduled to be in eight films not released yet. Put him down for one more because he will co-star in The Gangster Squad with Sean Penn, Ryan Gosling, and Josh Brolin.
If you remember, The Gangster Squad is adapted from a series of articles from L.A. Times which tells a true story about a special police task force who went after Meyer Harris "Mickey" Cohen, a member of the Jewish Mafia in the 1940's.
His next film to be released in The Rum Diary, which stars another hard working man in Hollywood, Johnny Depp.
Personally, I'm a fan of Giovanni Ribisi since I saw Saving Private Ryan. I think he's an excellent actor. He'll never carry a film as he doesn't have the stature or the good looks as Johnny Depp, but if you want to see quality acting, this guy performs well.
