Friday, July 8, 2011 at 7:04AM 'Uncharted: Drakes Fortune' Finds A 'Limitless' Director
This is the best week for a fan of Uncharted. First, the beta goes public for Uncharted 3: Drakes Deception and now Neil Burger, the director of Limitless and writer and director of The Illusionist is now attached to direct Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune.

David O. Russell, the Oscar nominated director of The Fighter, cited creative differences when he left the project back in May. The reason for my jubilance is that O. Russell, along with co-scribers Thomas Dean Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer, wanted to change the story to the first game entirely. He wanted to bring in Joe Pesci, Robert De Niro, and Mark Wahlberg as a family of treasure hunters. That's a slap in the face of us gamers. If you haven't played either Uncharted game, just think of them as a modern, more action-packed, kick-ass Indiana Jones movie, that's also interactive. I highly recommend you to play the game; you won't regret it.
Neil Burger might even be attached to write the screenplay for the film but that has yet to be confirmed. Out of the four films Mr. Burger has directed, he has written three including The Lucky Ones and Interview with the Assassin. In all honesty, I love this decision and I hope that he stays on board. Mark Wahlberg's fate to play Nathan Drake is up in the air; Wahlberg was set to play the lead when O. Russell was on board.

Let us all hope that Nathan Fillion plays Nathan Drake. He was born to play this role and I hope Neil Burger see that. Don't believe me:

if nathan fillion plays this role then i wont be watching this film legally. actors such as mark wahlbergh are more known than this nobody. first time i've heard of him and if he does get this role he will destroy this movie and i hope he does and gets hated for it all his unkown life
honestly i love fillion but i dont think hell be in it, however, i think this could be a good role for bradley cooper who has worked with burger before and needs a franchise as an actor
Both of the previous comments were written by idiots. Nathan Fillion is amazing and there is no one else who should even be considered to play Nathan Drake! If you don't know who Nathan Fillion is then you need to get your head out of the sand and watch Firefly/Serenity.
Dude, I'm not really a fan of Cooper being in action films. I felt he was a bit stiff in The A Team. Wolf Not A Sheep, Mark Wahlberg is a much more known actor but Nathan Fillion has the mannerisms and sense of humor of Nathan Drake. If he gets the role, emphasis on the IF, he'll knock the role out of the park. Check out Serenity, Castle, and Waitress to get a sense of his style.
did i say i didnt know who fillion is no i didnt, your the idiot for not reading my comment properly. i love fillion and everything hes been in including firefly, serenity, castle etc. i just dont think hell be in the movie because of his commitments to castle thats all, im not knocking the actor.
as for jonathan, ive seen everything fillion has been in, as for drakes fortune, i havent played the game so obviously i dont exactly know how hes supposed to be. fillion is great in everything he does but in my opinion hes just a fanboy choice and wont be taken seriously for a big time blockbuster by movie studios which is a shame cause he really is a great actor and i really like the guy. again ive seen firefly, serenity and watch castle and love them all. as for bradley cooper, he needs something, i really liked limitless and enjoyed the a-team for what it was. he needs some type of franchise and this could be it. i would love to have fillion in a big budget movie one day
You cannot go wrong with any of these films. I am definitely a huge fan of this work. Keep up the good work on this. tallahassee spray foam insulation
