Naomie Harris Confirmed as Miss Moneypenny in 'James Bond 23'

The cast for 007's next adventure, the currently titled Bond 23, is shaping up rather nicely with some notable additions.  The latest confirmation has actress Naomie Harris slated to provide the sexual tension as Mr. Bond's secretary Miss Moneypenny in the 23rd installment, according to Dailymail.  

I was completely ignorant to who Harris was, until I realized she was in the awesome horror flick 28 Days Later.  Apparently she's also been in a few of the Pirates movies, and again my ignorance comes into play regarding those movie sequels as well.

There's no mistaking the sexiness Harris will bring to the film, though her addition to the cast, led by head honcho Daniel Craig isn't nearly as sexy as the thought of Oscar winners Javier Bardem and Ralph Fiennes signed on to play Bond's latest rivals.  Both have proven themselves as not only phenomenal actors but even better bigscreen villians.

Bardem previously stated his excitement for the role he'd be playing.

"I'd be playing Bond's nemesis," Bardem said.  "But it's not that obvious.  Everything is more nuanced.  It's very intriguing.  They're changing the whole thing, the whole dynamic."

The excitement for a new Bond movie with an incredible cast is capped off by a great director in Sam Mendes expected at the helm.  I loved what he did with the subtle action/suspense in the film Road to Perdition and think his perspective will mesh extremely well with the direction the Bond films have recently taken.

Bond 23 has begun the pre-production phase and the aim is for a November 9, 2012 theatrical release.
