America's sweetheart, Reese Witherspoon will almost literally wish upon a star by joining Disney for the new comedy Wishlist, according to Deadline. Wishlist is the story of a little girl who throws a coin into a wishing well and makes ten wishes that never come true because her coin fails to reach the bottom.
As a result, the devastated girl loses her inner child, and 25 years later is an uptight, no nonsense career woman. At this time, much to her dismay, the coin is somehow dislodged from its hiding place and all of her childish wishes are sprung to life all at once becoming a difficult, yet funny juggling act.
The script is being written by Randi Mayem Singer (Mrs. Doubtfire). Oddly enough the original story was developed for a male lead, though its now being retooled for Witherspoon. She's obviously a great fit for this kind of light hearted, family-friendly movie.
I most likely won't see Wishlist, but am a fan of Witherspoon. I'd be much more inclined to see her next film This Means War, the action-comedy being directed by McG with co-stars Chris Pine and Tom Hardy, which comes out February 17, 2012.
