Saturday, August 13, 2011 at 3:22AM Mike Myers Resurrects 'Austin Powers' For Another Sequel

Mike Myers must've grown tired of the scottish accent and the whole Shrek bit, and decided a blast from the past was just what the doctor (Evil) ordered. Hitfix reported earlier this evening, Myers has signed on for another go-around with the groovy, shaggadelic International Man of Mystery know as Austin Powers for a fourth installment of the once popular series.
The movie will mark the first time we've seen the James Bond spoofed schtick since 2002, when Goldmember was in theaters. Rumor has it, Myers also plans to write the newest script, as he did for the previous movies, and this movie will be "very personal with a father and son theme loosely based on his own life."
I cringed when I read this news earlier, but remembered that even though the Powers character has been done to death in the three earlier films, the Dr. Evil side of Myers still cracks me up. I just hope that Myers isn't making this movie out of desperation, and actually plans to put in the effort to make it funny and entertaining.
We should have more updates on Austin Powers 4 sooner than later.

No doubt it will have another subtle title like "Thunderballs" or "The Man with the Golden Buns"
