Better-Late-Than-Never...A Trailer & Poster for New Spy Thriller 'The Debt'

Yesterday I wrote about Sam Worthington answering questions regarding the sequels for Avatar, while promoting his next movie The Debt.  It then occured to me that I knew nothing about The Debt and its prominent cast:  Helen Mirren, Jessica Chastain (Tree of Life), Tom Wilkinson and of course, Worthington.

The spy thriller begins in 1997, as two retired Mossad agents Rachel and Stefan (Mirren and Wilkinson) receive shocking news about their former partner (Ciaran Hinds).  All three agents, played by Chastain, Martin Csokas and Worthington respectively, have been revered by their country for decades over the actions they took in an accomplished mission in 1966 that involved the trio tracking down a Nazi war criminal in East Berlin.  They assumed their mission was completed, but was it really?  Now years later they must answer to past secrets and cover up the truth by any means necessary.

The Debt was directed by John Madden (no not the video game guy) from a screenplay by X-Men: First Class writer/director Matthew Vaughn, Jane Goldman and Peter Straughan.  Check it out in theaters soon on August 31, for now check out the trailer.
