Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at 5:11PM 'Drive' & 'Logan's Run' Director Wants to Make Wonder Woman Movie

Soon the movie world will find itself more familiar with director Nicolas Winding Refn and he's counting on it. His next film, Drive starring Ryan Gosling hits theaters on September 16, but it's the success of his future project, the Logan's Run reboot, he believes is the key to him getting a shot to make a Wonder Woman movie for DC Comics and Warner Bros.
He's talked about his desire to helm the project off and on over the last year, and reportedly believes Drive co-star Christine Hendricks (photoshopped above in mock Wonder Woman duds) would be the ideal candidate to play the world's most famous female super hero. The Playlist recorded Refn speaking about the idea of a Wonder Woman movie at The Empire Big Screen Festival this past weekend.
The director said, "I would love to make 'Wonder Woman'. And I also think that Christina Hendricks would be the perfect Wonder Woman, but Warner Bros haven't called yet. But I'm getting closer with 'Logan's Run'. I think someone said to me in a meeting that if I get Logan's Run right, then I'll get Wonder Woman."
So Refn's estimation is a good Logan's Run equals an opportunity to helm Wonder Woman. In my estimation, if I like Drive I'll definitely see Logan's Run, and if I enjoy the Logan's Run reboot then I'll hope a deserving Refn lands the Wonder Woman gig.
Would you be excited about a Wonder Woman movie, and if so who would you prefer to see in the role?
