Contagion is going to be an awesome film. I know I shouldn't count my chickens before they hatch because I have been disappointed before. *Ahem* Watchmen. But Contagion has everything, a fantastical cast, a great director, and a story that seems solid and a bit scary. Think of it as "a zombie movie without zombies" movie. But I can't help but to feel disappointed everytime a new poster comes out.
See what I mean, it's as though the marketing department over at Warner Brothers is getting lazy. The first teaser poster was very forgettable and this one doesn't seem to far behind. The tagline is Fear Isn't Too Far Behind but I don't see fear in any of the actors faces or eyes, just anger and sickness. Doesn't really click with me on a emotional level.
Contagion opens nationwide on September 9 and boasts a cast of Gwyneth Paltrow, Matt Damon, Marion Cotillard, Kate Winslet, Jude Law, Laurence Fishburne, Bryan Cranston and is directed by Steven Soderbergh. I will see this films no matter how crappy the posters are.
