Gerard Butler Saves Soul, Kicks Ass in 'Machine Gun Preacher' Trailer

The movie gods must've heard my complaints about Gerard Butler not playing enough dramatic action roles anymore.  He now has two tremendous looking movies on the way in Coriolanus, directed by and co-starring Ralph Fiennes, and Marc Forster's Machine Gun Preacher, which we have the trailer for today.

The Machine Preacher is a based upon a true story (aren't they all these days?) about Sam Childers, a former drug-slinging, biker bad ass who found God.  Childers decides he wants to make a difference in peoples' lives, so he travels to war torn East Africa where he helps repair homes destoryed by civil war, and tries to prevent the homeless Sudanese children from being forced into becoming soldiers.

This potential tear jerking, yet inspiring drama also stars Michelle Monaghan and one of my other favorite actors, Michael Shannon.

Machine Gun Preacher will be in theaters on September 23rd.
