Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at 3:04AM Peter Berg Confirms Another 'Friday Night Lights' Movie Script is Happening
Peter Berg's movie Friday Night Lights showed us high school football is a larger than life cultural phenomena in the state of Texas. He used the popularity of the film to develop a Friday Night Lights TV series for NBC which became a huge success. The show recently wrapped after four seasons, and now Berg has confirmed the hit program has spawned a return to its motion picture roots with a new script in the works, Deadline reports.

The plan is to bring back the cast of the series, which included Kyle Chandler (Super 8), Taylor Kitsch (Battleship, John Carter), Connie Britton, Adrianne Palicki (Wonder Woman) and Minka Kelly (The Roomate).
"We're very serious about trying to do it," Berg said.
Berg also mentioned that they'd like to begin production next year, though he didn't elaborate on who would be writing the script just that it's currently in development.
It's unusual to see a movie adapted from a book become a TV series and then take a u-turn back to the bigscreen again, but it makes perfect sense to strike while the iron is hot. I loved both the movie and the series, so the thought of another movie getting the greenlight is an exciting proposition.
So, yay or nay to a Friday Night Lights redux?
