Well, I guess it was only a matter of time before the children friendly Pixar made a movie about another children's favorite, Dinosaurs. During Pixar's D23 Expo 2011, the biggest animation studio in the world disclosed two new feature films.
One of them is currently called The Untitled Pixar Movie About Dinosaurs and will be directed by Bob Peterson who is an animator, screenwriter and director. Peterson even provided the voice of Doug the dog in Up. The film is slated to release holidays of 2013 and will be about what would have happened if the asteroid that killed off the dinosaur species missed and dinosaurs survived. Awesome.
The other film is still a bit early and they only described it as a movie about the human brain. Currently the project is being called The Untitled Pixar Movie That Takes You Inside The Mind.
I personally love what Pixar is doing. They are one of the few studios who are pushing the envelope to create new franchises while others are busy scheduling reboots and sequels for the next four years. The fact that they are staying true to their innovative brand allows me to appreciate the sequels of existing franchises even more. Rock on Pixar!
