Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at 2:19PM Ben Affleck Could Go POV in Directing Action Flick 'Line of Sight'?

The multi-talented Ben Affleck may soon have another directorial project to star in, as THR reports today he's being pursued to helm the thriller Line of Sight for Joel Silver. Affleck's current film, he's behind the camera for as well, Argo is in pre-production, so Line of Sight figures to be his next project after that.
The script for this film about "an elite commando squad transporting cargo while dealing with a global threat", which is expected to be filmed in a POV (point of view) style similar to a first person shooter video game, is being rewritten by Peter O'Brien. O'Brien wrote the script for the game Halo: Reach (2010).
He hasn't officially signed anything yet. I must admit this would be an odd fit for Affleck, although the action sequences he shot in The Town were exceptional. Maybe he wants to be the first director to create a quality POV-style action movie. It's proved successful in porn, not that I know anything about that. Perhaps, Affleck can set a trend by making it work in a feature film.
