Showtime is developing another series based on a comic book and graphic novel, similar to what the network already has in the works with the comic turned TV series "100 Bullets". This time the story comes from the pages of David Hayter's limited released comic "The Damned".
The Damned was written by Cullen Bunn and illustrated by Brian Hurt for the publisher Oni Press. The premise of comic revolves around Eddie, a cursed man trying to reacquire his soul while being stuck in the center of a modern-Chicago turf war, where mobsters are demons. Eddie desperately plays all the angles to keep the warring families away from each other. Sounds interesting.
David Hayter is no stranger to writing comic based projects for big screen adaptations, as he helped pen the screenplays for the first two X-Men films as well as the Watchmen.
It's unknown when Showtime plans to start shooting The Damned or David S. Goyer's 100 Bullets, though both projects have the potential to give HBO a run for its money when they're released.
