Colombiana with the beautiful and talented Zoe Saldana is a go see. I went into the movie not expecting much, because the trailers do not make the movie look too appealing. I think that is how we should go into every movie, to not let anything get in the way of what we are currently watching. This movie pulled through for me making me leave the movie satisfied, definitely not a waste of time.
Colombiana is about a little girl who sees her family not once but twice taken away from her, and her whole life she is out to get revenge on the people responsible. Cataleya Restrepo (Saldana) becomes a trained killer who can never really get close to anyone because it could ruin her plans of revenge or get her caught by the police. When she becomes of age, she not only starts her mission of by killing everyone who was involved in her families death, but she also leaves a calling card to bring them out. The police are just a pawn in the whole movie, and she constantly is ahead of them with the help of her uncle (Cliff Curtis). She changes routine for one night and everything blows up in her face and she has to be focused again to get her life mission accomplished.
This movie is definitely a matinee movie, or if your date is into action, a good date movie. You get a pleasant surprise seeing the magnificent Zoe body in some scantily clad shots, but nothing that lasts too long. She plays a good action hero, and even though the movie doesn’t really leave room for a sequel, hopefully she will come back in another action movie as the star. The Losers did not do her justice; I just wanted to put that out there.
