'Colombiana' Star to Show Her Softer Side in Next Movie

Zoe Saldana is ditching the guns and ammo to play a "half-human, half-angel" in her next film Dominion, THR reported earlier.  The lovely actress has also signed on to produce the project, which came from a pitch by Dean McCreary and Chester Hastings, who wrote an early draft of Machine Gun Preacher that didn't make the cut.  Hastings also co-wrote another script for a religious-esque film currently in development called You're My Angel.

There's no director attached to Dominion yet, though Robbie Brenner (Machine Gun Preacher, Serendipty) will produce the project with Saldana.  

We know Saldana will be an angel-like being in this film, though sadly enough it's already drawn comparisons to the reportedly horrible film Passion Play (never saw it) despite how little is known about the film.  In Saldana's defense, she's a far better actress than Megan Fox in my opinion, which could've had something to do with how poorly Passion Play was received.

Could be a nice change of pace to watch Saldana in a new role that doesn't involve her producing a high body count (Colombiana, Avatar, The Losers), more like displaying her acting range in another genre.
