True Blood, vampire lover Anna Paquin returns to the silver screen in the emotional drama Margaret, which co-stars Mark Ruffalo and Matt Damon. In Margaret, Paquin plays Lisa Cohen, a young high school/college-aged girl who witnesses a horrific bus accident that takes the lives of woman and her baby, and she feels responsible. Lisa lies about what happened to protect the bus driver (Ruffalo), as well as herself, and begins to struggle with affects of her decision. After all, she did flirt with the bus driver as he drove by, taking his eyes off the road. Accessory to murder, guilty!
It's in this aftermath where Lisa needs someone to talk to, and confides in her teacher, Mr. Aaron (Damon) sparking an affair.
The beginning of the trailer is misleading, and you'll see why. The preview goes from quirky comedy to gut-wrenching drama in a matter of seconds. Odd start to the trailer, but the movie looks good and has a strong cast working in its favor.
Margaret was written and directed by Kenneth Lonergan and will be released in 2012.
