Saturday, September 10, 2011 at 4:02PM Leaked Concept Art For 'Hellraiser' Remake

It just seems that almost every online website entertainment blogs/pieces are centered on reporting news for some Hollywood remake and today is no different. A few weeks back we learned of a direct-to-DVD remake/reboot of Clive Barker's Hellraiser. The remake, Hellraiser: Revelations, set up at The Weinstein Co. just so they can keep creative license on the character and any possible future remakes. Luckily (depending on how you view this), we'll possibly be getting a new remake with these concept art photos.
Shock Till You Drop got a hold of "several pieces of concept art that were created by special effects guru Gary J. Tunnicliffe, who worked on several "Hellraiser" installments and is also the writer of "Hellraiser: Revelations," the cheap installment that Dimension released in order to hold on to the rights to the property."

Bloody-Disgusting had a chat with Todd Farmer who was recently writing the remake for Hellraiser and is now off the project. Here's what he had to say:
"We developed several versions for Dimension, but in the end we never saweye to eyecreatively," said thewriter. "Originally what they wanted was epic and dark, rated R. It was in ourcontract. So... if WE do 'Hellraiser', it's rated R; if they want to do PG-13 then they have to get rid of us. I know PG-13's always discussed. To me it seems impossible to do 'Hellraiser' as a PG-13, and it seems DIFFICULT to do 'Halloween' as PG-13. What we wrote was definitely not PG-13."
I mean, making a PG-13 Hellraiser is no way to go about it unless you want something along the lines of hearing creepy sounds, and seeing quick moving shadowy figures like every other "horror" film Hollywood churns out and tries to sell to unsuspecting teenagers.
