Thank goodness for The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). The festival is making up for a traditionally slow weekend in movie news.
George Clooney has been the center of attention at the event thus far, and his movie The Ides of March is winning over everyone in attendance. That is the main reason I felt it appropriate to show the gala premiere video of the film at TIFF. It includes interviews with star/director Clooney and Paul Giamatti, and the introduction of the film's other key players, Ryan Gosling, Marisa Tomei (love her), Evan Rachel Wood, Max Minghella, Jeffrey Wright (Felix!), Phillip Seymour Hoffman and writer Grant Heslov prior to the premiere.
The political drama is creating early Oscar buzz, so I decided to include the trailer as well, after the gala segment.
Now watch Clooney as Presidential hopeful Governor Mike Morris in The Ides of March trailer. The movie opens in theaters everywhere on October 7th. I want to see this one, if nothing else than to see Gosling kill it in the movie.
