Let's hope this comic book film starring Ryan Reynolds doesn't flop like his last one, Green Lantern. His next comic book film is R.I.P.D., based off of the Dark Horse Comic books. R.I.P.D. or Rest In Peace Department was a limited run series about a cop who is murdered, joins an undead police department set to find his killer to bring peace to his soul so he could be sent to heaven. Sounds like a great read and hopefully, an equally entertaining movie. Production began in Boston this week and Celebuzz has some set photos of Reynolds, Kevin '6º' Bacon, and a sweet hunk of metal.
R.I.P.D. is directed by Robert Schwentke (RED and Flightplan, both awesome films) and stars Ryan Reynolds, Kevin Bacon, Jeff Bridges (who replaced Zach Galifianackis earlier this year), Marissa Miller, James Hong, Mary-Louise Parker, and Stephanie Szostak. The film is slated to hit theaters, according to IMDb, June 28, 2013.
