Hockey Fights Movie 'Goon' Gets Distributor & New Trailer

Last week we had the poster above of Seann William Scott in the new hockey/fights on the ice movie Goon.  The comedy written by Evan Goldberg (Pineapple Express, Superbad) and Jay Baruchel just nailed a distribution deal with Magnet, and also released the film's first trailer.  Where else did this deal go down but at the Toronto International Film Festival, which has been a hot bed for movie news as of late.

In Goon, Scott plays Doug Glatt a hockey thug/former bouncer, who gets recruited by a minor league hockey team to serve as their enforcer.  Glatt loves the lifestyle of the sport and develops a bit of a reputation on the ice, which leads to the ultimate showdown with infamous Canadian bruiser Ross Rhea (Liev Schrieber).

I love the premise of this movie and the trailer is everything I expected (looks hilarious).  In my opinion, it's what would've happened had Happy Gilmore (Adam Sandler) made it in hockey instead of golf.

Enjoy the trailer.  I know I did.

Unfortunately, we don't have a release date for Goon yet.

Looks pretty solid...The title reminded me of another Goon movie- "The Goon".

Any word GtBP when "The Goon" will see the light of day or even a DVD release?
