It's official The Italian Stallion will square off against The Muscles from Brussels in The Expendables 2. Sylvester Stallone confirmed in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, which tough hombres would make the active roster in The Expendables sequel. One of those bad dudes will be none other than Mr. Jean-Claude Van Damme who will play Sly's adversary in the follow-up.

"We'll have a big showdown between me and Jean-Claude Van Damme, which has been anticipated for a long time, so it should be a good one," Stallone said.
Stallone also mentioned who else we can expect to see sign up for this dream team of action stars.
"We got Chuck Norris and I think Nicolas Cage. We're trying to work out different scenarios. I like using people that had a moment and then maybe have fallen on some hard times and give them another shot. So we're always looking for actors like Michael Biehn and Michael Pare. I like those kinds of guys. Someone did it for me and I like to see if I can do it for them. We also need some new blood in there, a Navy seal type, because with The Expendables none of them have 20-20 vision anymore. They need some help man."
He's also looking to add John Travolta if possible, but said a lot of it has to do with schedules. I'm impressed that JCVD, Chuck Norris and maybe Nicolas Cage will be added to the fold. The first group of Expendables was already stacked to the rafters with beefcake: Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Bruce Willis, Arnie and more.
I may poke fun at Sly from time to time, but it's really an honorable thing he's doing here for fellow former/typecast action stars. I mean people gotta eat, right? Plus, it'll be nice to have those why "Chuck Norris is such a badass jokes" making the rounds again.
Hopefully Michael Dudikoff, Carl Weathers and other once upon a time hard hitters will get some love from Stallone, and be added to The Expendables 2 mix.
Principle photography will start at the end of the month in Bulgaria. The studio is pushing for a summer 2012 release.

I hope in the sequel, there will be more amazing fight scenes.
I hope the climactic fight between Sylvester Stallone and Jean-Claude Van Damme will knock everyone on their ass.
It would be good if they also include Jackie Chan, Steven Seagal, Michael Jai White, Kurt Angle and Bill Goldberg.
