Sunday, September 18, 2011 at 4:12PM Sigourney Weaver Reveals 'Avatar 2' & 'Ghostbusters 3' Plot Points

James Cameron favorite, Avatar star Sigourney Weaver created a stir over the weekend with talk about two anticipated sequels. The actress is currently making the interview rounds for the Taylor Lautner action film Abduction, and revealed major plot points from the future Avatar sequels and Ghostbusters 3.
Is it any surprise reporters are asking Weaver about future installments of blockbuster films instead of the awful-looking Abduction? Not from where I'm sitting.
See what Weaver reveals (possible *Spoilers*) after the jump.
Weaver was asked about whether or not her character Grace in Avatar, who passes away will be back.
"Don't worry, I will be back. Jim [Cameron] says no one ever dies in science fiction. He's told me the stories for the next two movies and I have to say that they're absolutely wonderful and there's a real treat in store. Now we just have to make them."
When the subject of Ghostbusters III came up, she admitted her character's son Oscar would be in the film, although she hasn't read the script.
"I have yet to read the script. I've had a couple of calls and I know they're rewriting and all I said was that I hope my son, Oscar, has grown up to be a Ghostbuster and Ivan Reitman said yes. Beyond that, I have no idea. I hope it comes together, but we already did two wonderful films and, if we have to let this one go, that's fine."
Wow, another star (the other being Bill Murray) from Reitman's original cast doesn't seem to want any part in the sequel. Hmmm?! A Ghostbusters story without Dana Barrett and Dr. Peter Venkman just sounds lame. Weaver suggested Venkman's role in the next film will be that of a ghost, though I'm not certain there's any validity to her comment.
"Well I guess Peter Venkman is dead. Dana without...I guess his spectre was always with her, whether she liked it or not," Weaver said.
I guess killing off Murray's character for the film is one way of dealing with the fact he doesn't want to be in it. I've long been opposed to another Ghostbusters movie myself, and if her comments are true, will continue to be. At least, there's no debate with the Avatar sequels...Everyone wants to see those movies get made.

Don't count me in! I don't understand why people go nuts over Avatar. It's cheesy and Cameron is laughing all the way to the bank. The story is LAME, and cameron just barely warmed up obvious leftovers and other peoples plots. He was outspoken about being against sequels, yet he is making two more Avatar movies because all the same chumps will pay 15 bucks to see them.
