Monday, September 19, 2011 at 1:45PM New Red-Band Trailer for 'The Thing'

The new Thing arrives in theaters soon (October 14th), so why all the new trailers and clips? Beats me. Fortunately, today's trailer is a Red band, which is always a more accurate preview of an upcoming movie.
In the prequel to John Carpenter's The Thing (1982), Mary Elizabeth Winstead plays a paleontologist who travels the globe, only to end up in a barren region. She meets up with a team of Norwegian scientists that have recently discoverd an extraterrestrial buried in a thick block of ice. The organism or "thing" appears dead, but is it?
The Thing escapes it's frozen coffin, and Winstead and Joel Edgerton must protect the camp before this alien kills everyone, or just inhabits his or her body. Gross.
Check out the super creepy trailer below. The aliens are definitely scarier in this newest Thing installment.
