In or Out? Justin Lin Back in for 'Terminator 5'?

Judgment day for a fifth Terminator is coming soon, and Fast Five helmer Justin Lin must decide if he wants to be a part of it.  Arnie's probably awaiting a phone call as well, wondering if the franchise he made famous is going to continue.  

Deadline reports it's possible Lin could return to the project, once he wraps up production on the next Fast and Furious vehicle (the reason he withdrew the first time).  Apparently, Annapurna Films is so fired up to resurrect the franchise that they'd like to put two films into production by the end of 2012.  The question is, will the studio hold off on making the films until Lin is available?

I've heard good reports about Fast Five, but I guess I have trouble understanding why Lin is worth the wait.  Fast Five did make some serious bank at the box office (around $600 worldwide), so that could make Lin appealing to the studio.  Looks like Lin's involvement is the deal breaker here.

One positive note to this story is that Arnie has reportedly convinced James Cameron to sit in on brainstorming sessions for the next film.  See there's a little silver lining here.  Too bad they can't convince Cameron to helm a new Terminator.  How freaking awesome would that be?!

In the mean time, we'll have to wait and learn whether Justin Lin is in or out.
