Star Trek standout and future Judge Dredd Karl Urban will re-team with Vin Diesel on The Chronicles of Riddick: Dead Man Stalking. This next Riddick adventure is being dubbed as a sequel to Pitch Black (2000), which would see Urban revise his character Vaako from The Chronicles of Riddick.

Urban is the second actor to join the film, after Diesel. The plot in this one revolves around Riddick and his need for vengeance against those who betrayed him. When some of the most feared bounty hunters are sent to kill him, he takes the opportunity to return to Furya to get his revenge and save the planet from destruction.

That's a great role for Diesel, but doesn't leave much for Urban to do. Perhaps, he'll serve as the antagonist in the film.

I don't remember much from The Chronicles of Riddick, other than thinking it sucked. I loved Pitch Black though, so here's hoping this next Riddick vehicle is similar to it.

David Twohy will return to direct, and once the cast is filled we should get an update on when they plan to start production.
