Justin Timberlake, the pop star turned actor will revert back to his musical ways for the film Spinning Gold, Deadline reports. The former "mother lover" is attached to star as 1970's music producer Neil Bogart in the biopic. Bogart handled top acts like Kiss, Donna Summer, The Village People and Parliament.
The script about the late producer, who died of cancer, in 1982 at the age of 39, was written by his son Tim Bogart. This story about Bogart, "a dirt poor Jewish kid from Brooklyn who went on to become a multimillionaire and help define 70s pop culture with his Casablanca label."
Apparently, Bogart's son was immediately impressed by Timberlake's presence.
"When Justin walked into the room, that is the moment I had been waiting for for 29 years. He has the exact same as my father, the same glimmer in his eye," Tim Bogart said.
The independent film is slated to start shooting in 2012, with Timberlake planning to bring his music into the film's album.
So, we'll see Timberlake return to a role of familiarity after making his action debut in the sci-fi film In Time coming this October 28th.
