'The Avengers' Unite for Magazine Cover & Pics

Behind-the-scenes images of The Avengers from Joss Whedon's set have been everywhere.  The timing by Entertainment Weekly to release pics of the Marvel super team couldn't be more appropriate.  The Avengers are currently rocking the cover of this week's EW edition.

The cover titled "First Look at The Ultimate Superhero Movie" includes Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Captain America (Chris Evans), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo), while Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) naturally takes center stage.

Ruffalo looks more like Logan a.k.a Wolverine than Bruce Banner here.

Next we have Captain America and Tony Stark talking shop, or checking out Black Widow.

Now Hawkeye and Black Widow contribute to the fight with their super bow and arrows and matching pistols.

And finally we have Thor standing in a not so manly stance, chatting with Joss Whedon, Tony Stark and Captain America.

The Avengers won't be in theaters until May 4 2012.  GTBP will have plenty more Avenger updates between now and then.
