Hugh Jackman to Play Host for WWE Monday Night Raw

Wolverine is taking his talents, not his adamantium claws to Cleveland, Ohio?  Yeah sort of.  Hugh Jackman will serve as a celebrity guest host of WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) Monday Night Raw on September 19th, when the traveling wrestling show visits Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland.  Jackman will use the popular event as a vehicle to promote his next movie Real Steel.  

The Aussie actor seems excited about the upcoming appearance.

"In two weeks, I'll be climbing into the ring on RAW to hang with the Superstars and give the WWE Universe an exclusive first look at my new movie, Real Steel, don't miss it," Jackman said.

I think Real Steel looks dumb as hell, but any extra publicity it can generate before the October 7th release is bound to help.  From an advertising perspective, appearing on WWE is a brilliant move and the movie based on human controlled fighting robots should appeal to the show's demographic.  Jackman should probably get into a fake wrestling match with a big 'ol WWE brawler to further help his cause.  

I don't expect Real Steel to have strong box-office returns.  Sadly, if you take the claws and mutton chop sideburns away, Hugh Jackman headlined movies just don't make much money.
