I've been waiting a long while to see Charlize Theron in something funny, not Hancock-funny (which isn't funny), but Arrested Development-funny. "You could always make land. On the ocean." If you can get your hands on the show, you'll understand what hidden comedic chops Charlize has been keeping hidden away. Be prepared to welcome Theron onto the big screen in Jason Reitman's Young Adult with a new one-sheet poster.
Comically enough, the poster looks as if it could belong on some self in the "young adult" book section, it's style reminds me of those classic 90s teen novels like The Babysitters Club, only with booze and some deep emotional issues when it comes to growing up. Ah nostalgia.
The film once again teams up Jason Reitman as director with Diablo Cody as writer; their last collaboration brought us Juno, starring Ellen Page. Even Jason Reitman's solo work has given us comedic performances from Aaron Eckhart in Thank You for Smoking and George Clooney in Up in the Air.

Here's a quick description of Young Adult:
Theron plays an alcoholic writer of young-adult novels who, on a whim, decides to return to the small town that she left behind years ago to aggressively pursue her ex-boyfriend from high school (Patrick Wilson) -- only, now he is happily married and the father of a young child, which certainly complicates matters, and leads her to another high school classmate (Patton Oswalt), and no shortage of trouble.
Young Adult is directed by Jason Reitman and written by Diablo Cody. Starring Charlize Theron, Patrick Wilson and Patton Oswalt. The film opens in theaters December 16, 2011.
