Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at 7:17AM Anthony Hopkins Returns to His Bread & Butter in 'Solace'

Anthony Hopkins has starred in a ton of great movies over the years, but his role as Hannibal Lecter will easily go down as his most well known. According to Variety, Hopkins is currently in talks for another serial killer style film, only this time he'll be among the good guys hunting the killer down in the crime thriller Solace.
In Solace, which was recently re-written by James Vanderbilt (Zodiac) Hopkins would play John Clancy a psychic and doctor who teams with the FBI to find a serial killer. No director is attached to the project at this time.
Usually, I don't hold much stock in this genre of movie, and it seems like Hopkins has been in a few of them. But then I think back to when I had zero hope that Fracture, which starred Hopkins and Ryan Gosling would be any good and it absolutely blew me away.
Hopkins is just one of those great actors that makes any movie he appears in simply better just by being in it. While Solace doesn't sound like a four star movie, having Hopkins and Zodiac writer James Vanderbilt onboard at least gives it a strong chance of being suspenseful and entertaining.

Very good post! Thanks.
"makes any movie better by simply being in it" ? Yea, The Rite was sweet. So was Wolfman. Oh, and don't forget about Bad Company either. You have terrible taste in film.
There's always a few that slip through the cracks. Assuming I liked these movies would mean that I do have terrible taste in film, but I haven't seen The Wolfman or The Rite.
