New 'American Reunion' International Trailer

It’s been over 12 years since the first American Pie hit theaters to become a box-office and cultural hit.  The teen sex comedy spurned several sequels and some ridiculous spin-off direct-to-DVD films.  Thankfully, Universal Pictures has decided to continue the saga with American Reunion and there’s a new international trailer to boot!

Let’s be honest, the trailer is fairly tame, as expected for a international trailer.  We’d rather wait for the R-rated to appear online sometime soon.  The movie does need some better promotional material to entice moviegoers to revisit the franchise because it’s worth it and not a simple cash-grab from movie studios.  Which obviously it is, but moviegoers don't need to be reminded or have their concerns validated.

Oh look, it’s Jennifer Coolidge!  If there ever was a reason to doubt the film, Coolidge is not one of them.

Here’s a quick synopsis:

In the film, all the "American Pie" characters we met a little more than a decade ago are returning to East Great Falls for their high-school reunion.  In one long-overdue weekend, they will discover what has changed, who hasn't and that time and distance can't break the bonds of friendship.  It was summer 1999 when four small-town Michigan boys began a quest to lose their virginity.  In the years that have passed, Jim and Michelle married while Kevin and Vicky said goodbye.  Oz and Heather grew apart, but Finch still longs for Stifler's mom.  Now these lifelong friends have come home as adults to reminisce about—and get inspired by—the hormonal teens who launched a comedy legend. 

American Reunion stars Jason Biggs, Alyson Hannigan, Chris Klein, Thomas Ian Nicholas, Tara Reid, Seann William Scott, Mena Suvari, Eddie Kaye Thomas, Jennifer Coolidge, Eugene Levy, Natasha Lyonne and Shannon Elizabeth.

In theaters April 6, 2012.
