Thursday, January 26, 2012 at 11:11AM New 'Project X' Trailer Better, Funnier than The First One

Director Todd Phillips has cracked me up with past movies like The Hangover and Old School. Now he takes a turn as producer on a new teenagers gone wild party movie Project X, which looked like absolute crap in the films first trailer. However, this newest preview shows a much funnier premise than I expected, a little more along the lines of how hilarious things can be when the consequences are insanely bad, similar to that of The Hangover.
The problem I had with the first Project X trailer was it appeared as nothing more than a Kids wannabe style party movie with no substance, where the teenage stars get fucked up on drugs and alcohol for 90 minutes. This trailer (below) shows that I seriously misjudged the directorial debut of Nima Nourizadeh, and it could be on par with Superbad and solid teenage led comedies like it.
Which is to say Project X actually looks very amusing, and the out of control antics of these party going youngsters may have more of a point to them than I would've otherwise thought.
Project X comes to theaters on March 2nd and stars a trio of funny young actors you may not recognize now, but will in the future if this movie becomes a box office hit.

Nothing about that movie looks funny.
