Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at 6:45PM New 'Dark Knight Rises' Prologue Soundtrack Fixes Bane's Voice?

Unless you've been living under a rock (and probably even if you have), you've heard that the main complaint about The Dark Knight Rises has been the incomprehensibility of Bane's voice. Certain studio representatives are said to be "terrified" of just what the result will be, and Cristopher Nolan seems bizarrely indifferent that the audience can't understand what one of his main freaking characters is saying. Everyone worried might be able to relax now, though, with reports that a new soundtrack was sent to IMAX theaters that made Bane much easier to understand.
This wasn't done by actually altering Bane's voice, apparently, but by reducing the background noise caused by the plane. According to Collider, the change radically improved the ability to understand the villain, saying that "They [other members of the audience] all said they had no issue understanding him."
As I've said before, I love the way Bane's voice sounds, and was hoping that they would be able to fix the incomprehensibility problem without making significant changes to it. If Collider's right on this, it means that Bane's voice should be fine for the remainder of the film. That would certainly fall in line with what we (much more clearly) heard from Bane in the recent trailer. Either way, we won't know for sure until the film's July 20th release date.
