Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at 7:27AM New French Trailer for 'Upside Down' Looks Crazy Good

Kirsten Dunst won over critics everywhere, including GTBP's Mario Melidona for her performance in Melancholia (Read our review here). She now looks to follow it up in an exceptional looking new sci-fi love story called Upside Down. In this drama worlds are literally turned upside down, as Dunst and Jim Sturgess star as two lovers named Adam and Eve, who cannot be together because the two respective worlds they're from have gone to war.
The visual effects from Upside Down look simply amazing in this first released, unfortunately French trailer. Think the scene from Inception where Ellen Page flips the city landscape upside down over itself, and you have the setting imagery of what the Upside Down world is. As you will see many times in the trailer below, Adam and Eve often meet at a cliff sides that are upside down from one another. They mention how people above must not interact with the people below often.
It's a fairly basic plot, and the trailer reminds me a bit of The Adjustment Bureau, only I'm hopeful that Upside Down will be far less disappointing. So far IMDB shows a 2012 release date for Upside Down.
