If you weren't convinced that David Fincher was an amazing visual director before, the opening credits sequence of his recent The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo should be enough to convince you otherwise. Amazing credits sequences, in fact, are something of a trademark for the director, going all the way back to 1995 with Se7en. Se7en's title sequence was influential, for sure, but I don't think anyone expected to see what we have now that Doğan Can Gündoğdu has proven that he might be the most awesome Bat-fan on the internet. Wow. It really is amazing how the recent technology hike has blured the line between professional and amateur. Here's the Se7en original for comparison:
While Nolan has never been very keen on using opening credits in his films, this makes a pretty convincing argument that it could work pretty well. I'm not sure where Gündoğdu is from, I hope that he has a secure place in a visual effects house, because he deserves it.
