Friday, January 6, 2012 at 7:12AM Kathryn Bigelow’s Bin Laden Movie Adds Four More to Killer Cast

Jessica Chastain (The Tree of Life), Mark Strong (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy), and Edgar Ramirez (The Bourne Ultimatum) are the latest additions to Kathryn Bigelow’s much anticipated, yet still untitled, Bin Laden movie. They’ll co-star in the drama portraying Navy SEAL Team 6′s long hunt for the mastermind of the 9/11 attacks, Osama Bin Laden.
The ensemble cast is set to include; Jason Clarke, Chris Pratt, Joel Edgerton, Idris Elba, Rooney Mara, Jennifer Ehle (The King’s Speech), Guy Pearce, Tom Hardy, and Nina Arianda (Tower Heist).
While most of the cast is still in the “rumored” phase, an official announcement is expected in the near future.
According to Deadline, the news comes at a time when the Defense Department, at the request of Rep. Peter King, investigates whether the Obama Administration leaked classified information to Bigelow and her screenwriter Mark Boal (The Hurt Locker) on the famous mission that resulted in Bin Laden’s demise. Perhaps if they offered Rep. Peter King a role, then he wouldn’t be trying to score political points by making pointless accusations.
While we fully expect President Obama’s re-election campaign to remind the American people of exactly which President got it done. It appears that Sony Pictures will opt out of the political game by releasing the film on December 19, well after November’s Presidential Elections. Wussbunnies!
