Kristen Wiig To Join Anchorman Sequel? Don't Act Like You're Not Impressed

While there is light at the end of the tunnel for the sequel to Anchorman, it still seems like the movie is a millions miles away.  But a sequel is coming and I, along with a lot of other folks, can’t wait for it to get here.  So while we patiently wait for Will Ferrell and company to hopefully deliver a sequel that is worthy of its predecessor, this bit of rumored casting news could turn that excitement up a notch or two:  Kristen Wiig as a love interest for Steve Carell?  Maybe…

While this bit of information is at this point just speculation, you gotta admit that Wiig would be a nice addition to the cast.  Having her play a love interest to Carell’s Brick Tamland could be a stroke of genius.  Wiig can definitely play it weird/quiet/kinda creepy, which is what I envision in my head as the type of character who might take an interest in Brick.  And then watching those two interact as a courtship ensues...that could be pretty fricking funny.

Hopefully this bit of news comes to fruition.  Hopefully Anchorman: The Legend Continues doesn’t end up being a lame duck sequel that makes everyone say the actors only got into this project for the cash grab.  I have faith that won’t happen though.

Anchorman: The Legend Continues is due to arrive sometime in 2013.  Hopefully this movie gets rolling soon, I would hate for it to get pushed into 2014.  That would not be a classy move.
