Friday, February 10, 2012 at 6:15PM Fearless Forecast: 'The Vow' Wins Valentine's Day Weekend

Valentine's day is just around the corner, Tuesday to be exact so why not treat that signifigant someone by taking them to the movies. The Vow is the latest chick flick destined to earn as much cash as it possibly can. I am not ashamed to say that The Vow actually looks like a pretty good guilty pleasure. I do love Rachel McAdams and I think Channing Tatum is an alright actor but what does that say about my character.

The Vow isn't the only film being released this weekend. Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, Safe House, and the rerelease of Star Wars: Episode 1 are the wide releases for this week. Peppered in with those wide releases are some limited releases like Rampart, which looks bad-ass. Now, without further ado, here are my predictions for this weekends Top Five.
1. The Vow $32.4 M
2. Journey 2 $28.1 M
3. Safe House $15.7 M
4. Star Wars Episode 1 $10.3 M
5. Chronicle $6.2 M
The Vow will make the most money this weekend on account of Valentine's day being so close. Journey 2 is a sequel and there will be kids screaming at their parents to go and take them to see it and mothers won't complain watching The Rock for two hours. Hell, I can't even complain.
Safe House looks interesting but not many people, especially teenagers would be able to get in to see this, unless they sneak in but that would just hurt its stint at the box-office.
Lastly, Star War Episode 1 in 3D would definitley gain a whole new audience but most people would just purchase the DVD or Blu-ray instead of buying a $20 ticket for one.
Rampart will place 21st with $800,000.
